The New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) has envisioned an improvement for the Lou Costello Park that would enhance and better serve the surrounding neighborhood. As the first step towards this vision, NJCDC received a grant to develop design and construction documents for the park improvements, and another application to secure funds for the park improvements.

 

In order to turn this vision into reality, Arterial was commissioned to upgrade this undervalued park and create a more dynamic and inviting space.  The design aims to revitalize the surrounding area through recreation and community building while maintaining the historic value of the neighborhood. Arterial has also been responsible for community outreach meetings to develop more interest and support from the neighborhood. A key feature incorporated in the design includes an inclusive playground design with special attention to children that are on the spectrum.
