The Connecticut Convention Center Plaza & Streetscape

The Connecticut Convention Center is located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut overlooking the Connecticut River.  It is the largest convention facility between New York and Boston. The Connecticut Convention Center’s 110-foot glass atrium rises ten stories above a large public plaza and tree lined, rooftop promenade.

Prior to founding Arterial, David Lustberg was the project Landscape Architect in charge of the construction administration of this $6 million public plaza, promenade and streetscape project.  Working integrally with TVS Architects, David’s role included site inspections, design development, plant selection.  Some of the greatest challenges included the custom detailing associated with the large, wind rooftop plaza and strategies for planting above capped and mitigated contaminated soil.
